Shelby (they/them) witnessed firsthand the toll that sustained activism and generational trauma can take on individuals and communities throughout their organizing journey in community. Recognizing the deep need for mental health care in organizing spaces, they committed to the path of becoming a counselor—dedicating themselves to collective healing and liberation. Shelby’s therapeutic interests center around generational trauma, including racial trauma, immigration trauma, systemic violence, internalized cultural assimilation, and domestic violence.
